The exhibition PHYSICA features sculptures that stage physical phenomena to be perceived in a sensory way. Due to the experimental nature and an aesthetic construction of the exhibits, the acting forces and their causalities gain a unique dramaturgy.
Hartmut Wöhlbier and Philipp Eibach had a good time constructing and building apparatus and sculptures, they felt express certain things being important to them. Important in the way the apparatus come into existence and the stories they tell. All pieces derive from the motivation to focus clearly on single physical phenomena and expressing it through basic material and geometry. The periodic movements of the apparatus add a certain dramaturgic aspect to it, playfully emphasizing the relationship between physics and aesthetics.
FELD is a young design studio founded by a group of Berlin based designers who share a common language of digital thinking in their work process. Trancending any definition in the tools or target media, the studio’s works combine computational design, electronics, physical computing, motion graphics and confident graphic design attitude in novel and elegant ways, equally easily found in edgy artistic interventions as in high production value media.
The showcased work focuses on the experience of natural forces in a series of three installations. Every single work applies a different feel of raw power and energy, all exposed in an experimental manner.
